We are working with our major oil and gas client, recruiting for a Procurement Specialist to join them on an initial 10-month contract. The Procurement Specialist supports the asset as the Supply Chain Rep by delivering safe, reliable, and commercially competitive sourcing solutions that enable optimized supply, logistics, and inventory outcomes.

Responsibilities:
- Convert planning demand and forecast changes into timely procurement actions.
- Ensure suppliers meet delivery commitments and proactively address risks or constraints.
- Interpret technical specifications, drawings, and QA/QC requirements to ensure accurate sourcing.
- Collaborate with engineers and suppliers to resolve technical or documentation issues.
- Lead competitive sourcing events, negotiations, and award decisions that support total value outcomes.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities through consolidation, supplier optimization, and commercial levers.
- Ensure commercial decisions align with technical requirements and operational risk.
- Maintain accurate records in Ariba, SAP, and associated procurement systems.
- Continuous Improvement & Digital Enablement
- Manage day to day supplier communication, expediting, and problem resolution.
- Work directly with supplier technical teams to troubleshoot specification, compliance, or quality issues.
- Support continuous improvement and corrective action plans.
- Compliance, HSSE & Assurance
- 5–10 years in procurement, supply chain, or materials management (energy, manufacturing, logistics, or chemicals preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, datasheets, and quality documentation.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with SAP, RFx processes, and supplier performance management.
- Effective stakeholder management across Planning, Operations, Maintenance and Logistics, Engineering, and Category Management.
- Flexible, solution oriented approach to resolving supply, technical, or commercial challenges.
