Our client, a leading mining operator is currently seeking an experienced Project Controls Engineer for a site-based role. This position will play a key part in project planning, scheduling, and cost control to ensure successful delivery across various brownfield and sustaining capital projects.
This role is on a 9:5 roster with FIFO from Brisbane.

Key Responsibilities;
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Apply Critical Path Method (CPM) principles to identify milestones and guide project execution.
- Track progress against plans, forecast schedule outcomes, and prepare stakeholder status reports.
- Support schedule risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure schedule alignment and transparency.
- Regularly update schedules with the latest contractor and stakeholder inputs.
- Manage and allocate project budgets in accordance with internal requirements.
- Monitor, analyse, and report cost variances to maintain visibility of risks and deviations.
- Use detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for accurate cost tracking and reporting.
- Prepare cost reports, monitoring curves, and analysis packs as needed.
- Assist in reviewing and validating contractor progress claims.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning, scheduling, and cost control processes.
- Ensure all project control practices adhere to internal procedures and governance frameworks.
- Proven experience in mining project controls, preferably in a site-based environment.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and established cost control systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
