Position Overview
The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for leading and executing project controls functions across cost, schedule, and data integration. This role supports internal project management teams to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets, timelines, and performance targets. The position requires strong analytical capability, hands‑on experience with cost and schedule systems, and the ability to translate data into meaningful insights for project leadership.
This role will support the RBB team and requires someone who understands how systems, data, and project controls tools work together—not a programmer, but someone who can analyze, interpret, and integrate data across platforms.

The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for leading and executing project controls functions across cost, schedule, and data integration. Key Responsibilities Cost Management & Reporting
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal and external cost reports, cash flows, and forecasts.
- Track budgets against purchase orders and subcontracts.
- Review and validate upstream (prime contract) and downstream (PO/subcontract) change orders.
- Provide accurate updates to cost reports, forecasts, and financial performance metrics.
- Support ad hoc cost and data analysis requests from the client.
- Develop Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 schedules.
- Manage schedule logic, sequencing, and resource loading.
- Create schedule diagrams and visuals using Microsoft Visio.
- Generate schedule reports and determine appropriate reporting formats.
- Analyze and report on schedule data from Primavera P6.
- Develop pre‑programmed P6 schedule reports and validate supporting documentation.
- Consult with project controls and project teams on schedule progress and performance.
- Support engineering, procurement, and construction planning, scheduling, logistics, and cost control.
- Set up and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Ensure accurate project setup in Enterprise Planning & Controls systems.
- Analyze data, review logs, and run reports across project controls platforms.
- Manage integrated data flows between systems and tools.
- Perform quality checks and inspections on all project controls deliverables.
- Serve as a technical point of contact for APMs, PMs, engineers, and construction staff.
- Work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Support long‑term field assignments as required.
- Comply with all internal policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field; or equivalent applicable experience.
- Minimum 3 years of direct project controls experience.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions quickly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Oracle Primavera P6.
- Ability to obtain OSHA 10‑hour safety certification.
- Willingness to support long‑term field assignments.
