About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Controls – Cost Specialist to support a high-volume maintenance and construction environment. This role is focused on cost control, progress measurement, and financial tracking across a large portfolio of shop-based and field-based industrial projects. The ideal candidate is comfortable working closely with project managers, supervisors, and fabrication/field teams.

Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and track project costs, budgets, PO values, and financial performance
across 25+ active projects ranging from $15K to $1M+.

• Apply earned value, rules of credit, and progress measurement methodologies to ensure accurate reporting.

• Validate inputs and outputs, ensuring progress metrics align with cost performance.

• Support lumpsum and maintenance-based projects by monitoring cost trends and identifying variances.

• Work closely with the Project Management team, shop supervisors, and field
personnel to gather data and validate progress.

• Assist with cost forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.

• Maintain high-volume cost documentation and ensure accuracy in a fast-moving environment with new work coming in regularly.

• Participate in team meetings and integrate into the site environment 

• Support both fabrication shop and field-based activities, a pipefitter or trades background is considered an asset.

• Work a 4/10s schedule with flexibility for overtime as required.

Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in Project Controls – Cost, ideally within maintenance,
construction, or heavy industrial environments.

• Strong understanding of earned value, rules of credit, and progress measurement.

• Experience supporting high-volume, fast-paced project environments.

• Ability to translate experience into actionable success in cost tracking and
reporting.

• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills; finance background is an asset.

• Experience working with POs, cost monitoring, and budget alignment.

• Ability to work collaboratively as a team player with PMs, shop teams, and field
crews.


Work Environment
• Mix of shop support (fabrication) and field-based activities.

• High-volume project environment with continuous new work intake (10–80% new projects regularly).

• Collaborative, fast-paced team environment with strong support from operations
and PM leadership.
