Project Engineer – Western Sydney

NES Fircroft has partnered with a growing engineering and project delivery business that specialises in the design and construction of critical electrical infrastructure across Sydney. Working alongside utilities, renewable energy developers, and major contractors, the team delivers complex transmission, distribution, substation, grid connection, and utility-scale BESS projects that are supporting the ever-growing energy transition in Australia.

About the Role

With a strong pipeline of work and ambitious growth plans, this is a striking opportunity to become part of a collaborative, technically focused team where you’ll have the chance to be exposed to BESS projects from front-end to back-end engineering phases but mainly supporting the design and delivery. Reporting into the Project Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating the technical and commercial delivery of electrical infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate the design development phase with internal engineering, procurement, and delivery teams, as well as external stakeholders; clients, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Review engineering designs to ensure constructability, cost efficiency, and project compliance
  • Lead procurement activities to ensure the timely delivery of equipment’s
  • Lead bid evaluations for the subcontractors and vendors
  • Monitor the project progress as per the project schedule, identify the delays, and find solutions alongside internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage and work alongside the site engineers as well as the design teams to resolve all site queries
  • Lead the coordination meeting with Subcontractors and Design team.
Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and proficient negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities to gain results
  • Proven BESS project delivery experience
  • Able to identify and manage risks, including those affecting relevant customers and assets.
