Project Engineer – Civil / Structural (Transmission Infrastructure)

NES Fircroft is partnering with a leading infrastructure organisation delivering a major transmission project in regional WA. Due to ongoing project requirements, we are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of critical civil and structural works associated with new transmission infrastructure and network connections.
Job Title: Project Engineer – Civil / Structural (Transmission Infrastructure)
Location: Approximately 2 hours from Perth
Salary: Circa $150,000 - $160,000 package depending on experience
Length: Fixed-Term Contract
Roster: Monday to Friday, Site Based
Accommodation: Provided
Additional Benefits: Daily site allowance
The Role
This is a hands-on project delivery role where you'll be embedded within a live construction environment, supporting the delivery of transmission infrastructure works from construction through to completion.
Working closely with project managers, contractors, consultants and engineering teams, you'll be responsible for coordinating technical activities, managing construction interfaces, resolving engineering issues and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
The role is ideally suited to an engineer who enjoys a strong site presence and can effectively bridge the gap between design and construction teams.

The Role

Key Responsibilities
- Provide civil and structural engineering support throughout project construction activities.
- Support the delivery of transmission infrastructure and associated civil works.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Conduct site inspections and construction verification activities.
- Ensure works are completed in accordance with approved designs, specifications and relevant standards.
- Manage RFIs, technical queries, engineering changes and contractor submissions.
- Support QA/QC processes, inspections, documentation and project close-out activities.
- Identify and resolve construction and engineering challenges on site.
- Coordinate activities between contractors, consultants, designers and project teams.
- Monitor construction progress, identify project risks and assist with mitigation strategies.
- Support commissioning, handover and defect management activities.
- Promote strong safety and quality outcomes across the project.
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Project Engineer, Site Engineer or similar position.
- Strong site-based construction experience.
- Experience delivering civil and structural infrastructure projects.
- Previous exposure to transmission, utilities, renewable energy, mining or major infrastructure projects.
- Experience reviewing drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
- Demonstrated experience managing RFIs, technical queries and engineering changes.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach to engineering challenges.
- Ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced construction environment.
- Transmission line construction projects.
- Overhead powerline infrastructure.
- Tower foundations, structural installations and associated civil works.
- Transmission line stringing activities.
- Substation or grid connection projects.
- Renewable energy developments.
- Utility or network infrastructure projects.
- EPC or EPCM project environments.
- Experience working to Australian standards and network requirements.
