Project Engineer / Field Engineer - Gas Turbine Controls & Power Generation

Project Engineer: Orlando, FL (Approximately 25% Travel)
Field Engineer: Can be Based Anywhere in the U.S. (Approximately 75% Travel)

About the Opportunity We are seeking experienced Project Engineers and Field Engineers to support Gas Turbine Control Monitoring & Upgrade (CM&U) projects across North America.
These positions are ideal for professionals with experience in Gas Turbine Controls, Electrical Systems and Power Generation environments. Successful candidates will support the engineering, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and modernization of turbine control systems at utility and industrial power facilities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support Gas Turbine Control Monitoring & Upgrade (CM&U) projects.
  • Develop, modify, review, and interpret control system documentation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, control, and turbine system issues.
  • Support installation, startup, commissioning, and testing activities.
  • Interface with customers, project teams, and field personnel.
  • Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
Preferred System Experience
  • GE Speedtronic Control Systems
  • Emerson Ovation (Gas Turbine Applications)
  • Woodward Control Systems
  • GE EX2000 / EX2100 Excitation Systems
  • Basler DECS Excitation Systems
Required Technical Experience Candidates should have experience developing, modifying, and interpreting:
  • One-Line Diagrams
  • Three-Line Diagrams
  • Control Specifications
  • Device Summaries
  • Connection Diagrams
  • Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
Project Engineer Responsibilities
  • Support engineering design and controls integration activities.
  • Develop and review technical documentation and engineering deliverables.
  • Provide engineering support for system upgrades and modifications.
  • Work closely with project managers, customers, and field teams.
  • Travel approximately 25% to support projects and customer sites.
Field Engineer Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site supervision during installation and commissioning activities.
  • Lead startup, testing, troubleshooting, and system checkout efforts.
  • Coordinate field activities with customers, contractors, and project teams.
  • Support commissioning, turnover, and final acceptance activities.
  • Travel approximately 75% throughout North America.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related discipline preferred.
  • Experience within power generation, gas turbines, industrial controls, or electrical systems.
  • Strong understanding of control systems and electrical schematics.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required.
