This role is ideal for engineering professionals who are detail‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously. Candidates should bring a strong foundation in substation design and construction, along with the soft skills needed to lead and coordinate effectively.
Location: Raleigh, NC
Travel: 10-15% travelling for site kickoffs, site visits, etc.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage 2+ substation projects concurrently from design through execution.
• Lead and coordinate all engineering activities for turnkey substation projects.
• Oversee project design packages, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
• Collaborate closely with the execution team, vendors, and internal engineering groups.
• Participate in site kickoffs, site visits, and project review meetings (10–15% travel).
• Support project planning, scheduling, and technical documentation.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and performance standards.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred or related discipline).
• 3–5 years of experience in substation engineering, design, or construction.
• Strong understanding of substation components, design principles, and construction processes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and drive tasks to completion.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
• A driven, confident, and proactive personality suited for leading technical efforts.
Nice-to-Have
• Experience with EPC or turnkey project environments.
• Familiarity with utility standards, protection & control, or high‑voltage equipment.
