Project Engineer – Offshore Decommissioning
Location: Docklands, VIC
Contract: 18 months
Roster: Office-based with offshore 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off during key execution phases
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support a major offshore decommissioning campaign involving the preparation, removal, transportation and onshore load-in of approximately 13 offshore platforms, comprising around 32,000 tonnes of topsides and 57,000 tonnes of steel jackets.
The campaign will involve offshore facility preparation, demolition, heavy-lift vessel operations, subsea construction, transportation and onshore load-in and set-down.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a technically complex offshore campaign from planning through to execution.

You will support the planning, execution readiness and delivery of offshore decommissioning activities, working closely with engineering, operations, marine and contractor teams.

Key Responsibilities
Planning & Readiness
- Support project deliverables, procedures, execution plans and technical reviews.
- Provide engineering input into safety cases, site safety plans and environmental/regulatory approvals.
- Coordinate project, engineering, operations, supply chain and contractor interfaces.
- Support schedule development, stakeholder coordination and vessel mobilisation planning.
- Participate in HAZID, risk assessments and risk/opportunity management.
- Support vessel audits, regulatory readiness, safety onboarding and emergency response planning.
- Participate in Installation Readiness Reviews and mobilisation readiness activities.
- Transition into a field engineering role during offshore execution.
- Support safe and efficient delivery of offshore activities.
- Provide engineering support to offshore operations and vessel management teams.
- Support Management of Change processes.
- Monitor execution against approved plans, procedures and project requirements.
- Coordinate engineering and operational interfaces while maintaining strong safety and environmental standards.
- Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- Project engineering experience within oil & gas, offshore construction, marine, heavy construction or decommissioning.
- Experience supporting projects from planning through to field execution.
- Understanding of offshore construction and/or heavy-lift operations.
- Experience working with contractors and complex project interfaces.
- Knowledge of Australian regulatory and permitting requirements.
- Strong project management, planning, coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic project environment.
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental performance.
