Summary
The Project Manager leads major industrial capital and compliance projects at a manufacturing facility, overseeing planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout. This role requires strong technical knowledge of industrial processes, material handling systems, heavy equipment, controls/electrical systems, and high‑temperature thermal equipment (kilns, dryers). The PM will coordinate engineering firms, contractors, vendors, utilities, and regulatory agencies while ensuring compliance, schedule adherence, and budget control.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage full project lifecycle from feasibility through commissioning and turnover.
  • Coordinate multi‑discipline engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, controls, process).
  • Maintain schedules, budgets, forecasts, and change management.
  • Provide technical oversight for material handling systems, batching, thermal equipment, air/dust systems, and emissions control.
  • Support equipment selection, constructability reviews, integration planning, and tie‑ins.
  • Oversee electrical/controls scope including MCCs, VFDs, PLC/HMI integration, field wiring, and industrial networks.
  • Lead coordination with city/county agencies, environmental permitting, and utilities.
  • Support corporate capital approval processes and prepare executive‑level updates.
  • Manage project risk, safety planning, construction quality, and commissioning documentation.
  • Direct procurement activities, vendor evaluations, and contractor performance.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 5–10+ years managing industrial capital projects in manufacturing/heavy industry.
  • Experience with multi‑million‑dollar projects and regulatory coordination.
  • Knowledge of industrial processes, material handling, kilns/dryers, and electrical/controls systems.
  • Ability to work across disciplines in active operating plants.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, or Process engineering background.
  • Experience with environmental permitting or compliance projects.
  • EPC/EPCM firm management experience.
  • Familiarity with stage‑gate capital governance and project controls.
  • OSHA 30, PMP, or similar certification.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong project management (scope/schedule/budget/risk).
  • Technical judgment and ability to challenge assumptions.
  • Clear communication and executive‑level reporting.
  • High accountability and follow‑through.
  • Proficiency with MS Project/Primavera, Excel, and document control tools.
Working Conditions
  • Primarily onsite at the Corona plant with field walks and contractor coordination.
  • Occasional travel for vendor meetings, engineering reviews, FATs, and corporate sessions.
