Job Title: Project Manager 
Industry: Oil Field Services 
Contract: 1 year initially with the plan to move to a permanent position after probation period - if all goes well 
Pay Rate / Salary: highly negotiable, please contact for details 
Working Pattern: Full time 5 days per week, hybrid model: 3 days in office 2 days at home 

Key area of expertise required: completion tools, subsea valves, subsea mechanical components 
Industry experience: design and manufacturing of the tools listed above 

Under broad supervision, manages one or more large internal, outsourced or customer funded projects involving multiple disciplines, departments or Centers.  Develops and negotiates approval for the project charter and scope, assist in financial analysis, ensures completion of technical and detailed product specifications, manages project creep and ensures complete and accurate project release. Manages project activities across functional groups, Centers and organizations.  Job role is independently accountable for a large staff or support arm of the organization or a single profit/loss or revenue center, major product line, or support function.  Skills typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in engineering or other related technical field with a minimum of 12 years of oil and gas industry experience, of which 6-11 years is in project management.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Project Leadership
    Manages one or more large internal, outsourced, or customer funded projects involving multiple Disciplines or functional groups and departments.
  • Project Charter
    Develops and negotiates approval for the Project Charter ensures completion of technical and detailed product specifications, manages project creep and ensures complete and accurate project release.
  • Stakeholder communication
    Ensures needed communication during the project's life cycle with customer, management, project team and other stakeholders.
  • Schedule planning & change control
    Identifies activities, documents dependencies and estimates effort to build the project plan schedule. Manages changes to the schedule to minimize effect on project.
  • Team resourcing & performance
    Defines and negotiates project team resources and gains commitments from groups involved.
  • Budget & funding
    Determines required resources and project budget. Monitors and controls budget throughout project.
  • Risk management
    Identifies, analyses and mitigates project risk, monitors and controls risk.
  • Procurement
    Determines what to procure and when, documents product requirements, obtains bids, selects vendors and works with Procurement.
  • HSE & Quality
    Monitors HSE and Quality standards for compliance and opportunities for continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Qualifications:
  • Skills typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in engineering or other related technical field with a minimum of 12 years of oil and gas industry experience, of which 6-11 years is in project management.
  • PMP or PRINCE2 Qualification is desirable.
Experience: Must be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:
  • Project Management of Oilfield mechanical product/system design projects
  • Manufacturing processes
  • Project leadership and governance of technically complex, multi‑disciplinary engineering projects
  • Technical oversight and assurance, with sufficient engineering depth to assess risks, and support sound project decision‑making
  • Stakeholder management and communication, effectively coordinating customers, engineering disciplines, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
  • Risk and reliability management, including the tracking of technical risks and FMEA outputs
  • Programme planning and execution, including development and control of project schedules and budgets
