Join us in developing our Defense capabilities!

At Aker Solutions we are changemakers with nearly 200 years of experience, driven by collaboration and curiosity.

Power Solutions, a segment within Aker Solutions, is at the forefront of exploring new markets. Building on our product development and fabrication expertise from subsea oil & gas history, we are now further expanding our ambitions into the growing defense market.

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Power & Controls Engineering department in Tranby. The offices are centrally located 10 minutes from Drammen and 30 minutes from Oslo.

In this role, you will play an important part in developing Aker Solutions’ defense project capability, taking ownership of projects, and helping establish robust ways of working in a regulated project environment.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead and manage small to medium‑sized projects within defense from initiation through close‑out

  • Plan, coordinate, and follow up on project scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality

  • Ensure project execution in accordance with Aker Solutions’ project execution model, governing procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements

  • Coordinate and lead multidisciplinary project teams in close cooperation with Engineering and relevant support functions

  • Manage change control, deviations, and project risks in line with established company processes

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders

  • Monitor and report project progress, costs, risks, and performance to management and key stakeholders

  • Contribute to continuous improvement through structured project follow‑up, experience transfer, and lessons learned

We think you should have:
  • Higher education within engineering, science, or a related discipline

  • Solid experience from project management roles, typically around 5 years or more, preferably from development or delivery projects in a multidisciplinary environment

  • A structured and execution‑oriented approach to project management, with the ability to balance progress, quality, and risk

  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at different levels, both internally and externally

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership in a setting where support functions may be limited or evolving

  • A proactive, flexible, and solution‑oriented mindset, with a natural drive to see tasks through to completion

  • Fluency in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken

  • Experience from defense or a serial production environment is an advantage

  • The role may involve projects where security clearance is required
