Public Affairs Coordinator Location: Houston, TX
Employment Type: Temporary (Approximately 24 weeks)

About the Role We are seeking a detail oriented and highly organized Public Affairs Coordinator to support daily operations within the Public Affairs and Events team. This role plays an important part in helping deliver communications, events, and projects that strengthen relationships, support strategic initiatives, and contribute to a positive business environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication skills, project coordination experience, and an interest in public affairs, communications, or events.

What You Will Do • Provide administrative and non administrative support for public affairs activities.
• Coordinate activities and communication across various public affairs functions.
• Support projects and events throughout North America.
• Assist with planning, set up, and execution of internal and external public affairs events.
• Help execute communications campaigns across web, social media, advertising, and collateral materials.
• Build and maintain organized filing systems and advise on record retention policies.
• Prepare, develop, and maintain reports that require compiling data, records, and other information with a high level of accuracy and version control.
• Improve workflow systems and documentation processes.
• Conduct research on assigned topics and assist with database entry.
• Participate in special projects as needed.

Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Journalism, Communications, Fine Arts, or a related field. Other degrees may be considered.
• Proven ability to manage a wide range of administrative tasks effectively.
• Ability to independently research and resolve inquiries, including escalated issues.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with excellent grammar and the ability to compose professional written materials.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with team members.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, manage interruptions, and meet deadlines.
• High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining spreadsheets.
• Understanding of the energy industry is a plus.
• Typically at least three years of relevant experience or internships.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately in English.

Preferred Capabilities • Experience developing and executing communication plans across an organization.
• Ability to work with senior leaders to develop messaging and presentations.
• Strong critical thinking skills to evaluate issues and shape effective communication strategies.
• Ability to quickly assess situations and recommend appropriate actions.
• Excellent writing skills across multiple channels for varied audiences.
• Ability to build relationships across departments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience evaluating speaking opportunities and supporting presentation development.

Position Details • Temporary assignment expected to last approximately 24 weeks.
