Our client is seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to join their team, reporting directly to the Purchasing Supervisor. This role is responsible for delivering procurement and purchasing services across the business, ensuring the timely sourcing, purchasing and expediting of goods and services while maintaining cost efficiency, compliance and operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchase and expedite materials, parts, supplies, equipment and services in accordance with established procurement policies and procedures.
  • Source, evaluate and engage cost-effective, reliable suppliers while managing RFQ processes and supplier capabilities.
  • Support the analysis of commercial improvement initiatives across capital projects, maintenance programs and operational expenditure.
  • Ensure goods and services are procured and delivered in line with required specifications, quality standards and timelines.
  • Maintain accurate material costing and purchasing records.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement requirements are consistently met.
  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules and supply chain risks to support business operations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within procurement and purchasing processes.
About You
  • Experience in a Purchasing, Procurement or Buyer role.
  • Previous experience within the mining, resources, industrial or heavy industry sectors will be highly regarded.
  • Working knowledge of Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) processes, logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system.
