Vacancy: Repair Engineer

About the role
Our client, a leading gas turbine maintenance provider, currently have a vacancy for a Repair Engineer. This is within the Advanced Remanufacturing Business based in Dyce, Aberdeen.
The ideal candidate will have multiple years' experience working in Gas Turbine overhaul / component repair.

Role Overview
  • Provide engineering support for all production processes and resolve process interruption of parts WIP.
  • Perform technical review of components to satisfy customer requirements and manage technical requirements with the engineering authority / customer
  • Development and creation of documentation such as Repair Schemes, data cards, route cards and Maximo job plans.
  • Review technical issues and development / implement solutions.
  • Establish and approve subcontractors and provide technical support where required.
  • Fully investigate and close out any improvement opportunity raised for the attention of the engineering teams, identifying and implementing corrective/permanent fix actions.
  • Encourage and support all Company driven Lean and Six Sigma projects.
  • Ensure administration duties are carried out effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively within the department and provide support and assistance to other staff/suppliers where appropriate.
  • Plan and organise multiple priorities repair requests, workshop technical support and engineering reports for customers.
  • Provide regular feedback on progress to supervision and escalate any issues that may impact agreed turn times.
  • Represent the Engineering teams at ARB meeting.

What we need from you

 
  • Experienced technical background in Gas Turbine overhaul / component repair and the associated processes would be advantageous
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into operational instructions.
  • Understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of QHSE procedures and COSHH requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge of gas turbine repair and overhaul would be advantageous.
  • Good organisational, planning and communication skills.
  • Selfstarter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good knowledge of ERP systems, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent attention to detail
