Title: Risk and Loss Prevention Engineer/Specialist III
Location: Texas
Schedule: Standard (5 days on / 2 days off), 40 hrs/week
Rate: $135–$145/hr

Contract Duration: 12 months

Position Overview
The Risk and Loss Prevention Engineer/Specialist III provides expert evaluation and guidance on engineering work performed internally and by contractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements. This role supports the effective execution of safety and risk engineering activities across multiple projects while maintaining clear and timely communication among the Project Team and cross‑functional stakeholders. Strong technical expertise, communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and comment on engineering deliverables to ensure alignment with project requirements, safety standards, and applicable codes.
  • Support engineering and design processes that meet project objectives, procedures, and discipline best practices.
  • Maintain timely and accurate communication regarding engineering issues, progress, and activities across Project Teams and stakeholders.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Review engineering designs for new projects and facility upgrades to ensure compliance with corporate and industry safety standards.
  • Coordinate timely completion of risk studies, safety assessments, and technical reviews.
  • Support Advisors and Project Teams in contractor‑led or EPC‑led safety and risk assessments.
  • Develop and review study charters, conduct formal reviews, and prepare detailed technical reports.
  • Track and steward action items to resolution in alignment with the Action Resolution Plan.
  • Facilitate company‑led safety studies and assessments when required.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Strong background in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS).
  • Demonstrated Loss Prevention experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria.
  • Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal), particularly in technical and business contexts.
Preferred
  • Offshore experience, particularly subsea.
  • Guideword HAZOP facilitation experience.
  • Ability to perform consequence modeling using DNV PHAST.
  • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally as needed.
No offshore travel is required for this role.
