Senior Risk Manager (Project Delivery)

The Risk Manager supports the implementation, execution, and continuous improvement of qualitative and quantitative risk management processes across the full project life cycle (FEL1 to execution) within a large-scale project delivery environment. The role is part of the project’s decision-support function and ensures that risks and opportunities are systematically identified, assessed, monitored, and communicated. Responsibilities
  • Risk Management Framework: Develop, implement, and continuously improve risk management plans, processes, and governance structures aligned with standards (e.g., ISO 31000, PMI, AACE)
  • Improvement Initiatives: Contribute and support the implementation of new methodologies, tools, and ways of working as part of an ongoing improvement plan
  • Lifecycle Risk Management: Ensure effective risk management across the full project lifecycle (FEL1 to execution)
 
    • Identify, assess, and analyze risks (qualitative & quantitative, incl. QRA)
    • Maintain risk structures (registers, frameworks, reporting)
    • Support Risk Owners in mitigation and closure
    • Ensure governance, standards, and compliance
    • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder coordination
    • Communicate risks clearly and escalate critical issues
    • Provide risk-based insights for decision-making
    • Deliver regular risk reporting and dashboards
    • Drive tool development and data-driven risk approaches
    • Integrate risk management into overall project governance
 
  • Data & Tool Management: Utilize and further develop risk management tools and systems, supporting digital and data-driven approaches
  • Integration: Collaborate closely with Project Management, PMO, and other functions to embed risk management into overall project governance
Qualifications Hard Skills
 
  • Proven experience in project risk management within complex project environments
  • Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative risk management methodologies
  • Knowledge of international standards and frameworks (ISO 31000, ISO 31010, IEC 62198, PMI PMBOK, AACE TCM, PRAM)
  • Experience in risk register management, risk structuring, and reporting
  • Strong expertise in developing and implementing risk management plans and frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with Monte Carlo simulations and relevant tools (e.g., Safran Risk, @RISK, Primavera Risk Analysis, MS Office)
  • Strong understanding of integration of risk with cost, schedule, procurement, and project controls
  • Ability to work in operational & conceptual contexts (implementation + continuous improvement)

Profile:
  • Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management or a related field
  • Several years of experience in project environments, preferably in risk management or PMO roles
  • Experience in large-scale or complex projects (e.g., infrastructure, construction, or transformation) is a plus
  • Experience in process improvement, transformation initiatives, or setting up governance structures is an advantage
  • Certification in project or risk management (e.g., PMP, PMI-RMP, PRINCE2) is a plus
Conditions:
  • Language: Fluent English (written and spoken)

  • Duration: 6 months with option of extension
  • Scope: 5 days per week
  • Location: Stockholm (Stockholm will be 25-50%, about 25% onsite in Boden and rest remote)
