Job Title- Safety OPS Support
Location: Basra, Iraq.
Tenure- Contractual Role
Activities and Accountabilities
• Support implementation of HSE Management system of the Affiliate across all GGIP projects and TEPRH departments. Participate in
redaction of HSE Plans and Procedures, assist with deployment on site and cascading best practice to peers and contractors.
• Redaction, revision and implementation of operational safety and occupational health plans, procedures and instructions.
• Providing input to bridging documents with EPC contractors.
• Review and improve Method Statements and Job Risk Assessments by accompanying contractors through the risk assessment and Permit
to Work process.
• Support site teams in implementation of the PTW process and JRA during the ongoing operations: Toolbox talks, awareness sessions,
Safety Green Light coaching.
• Ensure work on site aligns with permit conditions and that the safety controls are effectively implemented. Liaise with site supervisors.
• Assist entities in deployment of the E-Permit system for digital PTW process.
• Participate in revision of SIMOPS dossiers, as needed.
• Assit Project teams with implementation of effective control measures on Projects’ construction sites (e.g., accommodation hygiene,
potable water management, handling of chemicals/COSHH, H2S, health surveillance, management of hazardous substances, lifting etc.).
• Carry out site inpections and audits as needed, register findings and propose effective mitigation measures. Accompany site teams and
drive the improvement. Prepare Action Plans. Ensure Actions are registered in Synergi and closed in due time.
• Participate in incident investigations and CTAs when needed.
• Assist Projects and Affiliate teams in development of necessary HSE competences by organizing trainings and awareness sessions, while
liaising with topic experts (for example APLO, Industrial Hygiene, Technological Risks etc).
• Carry out KPI reporting and monitoring, document site visits, inspections, drills and exercises. Contribute to the analysis of HSE
performance to identify areas for improvement to prevent accidents.
• Maintain and animate the HSE network by preparing and presenting safety moments, REX presentations, Golden Rules awareness sessions,
safety standdowns etc.
• Assist the deployment of Group’s HSE programs dedicated to a high performing safety culture (golden rules, zero fatality program, stop
card, Safety+, etc.) within TEEP-RATWI, in liaison with the HSE Network.
Qualifications/Experience required
• Degree in safety/mechanical/process engineering or relevant job experience.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in the oil industry, with significant experience in site construction activities, production or drilling activities.
• Ability to communicate and network in a complex and multicultural organization. Initiative, reactivity, ability to synthesize and prioritize
are essential assets
• Previous experience under SIMOPS works or experience in leading site team will be considered as a plus
• Good knowledge health & safety legislation, sufficient to offer good advice without reference, and be able to offer detailed advice through
reference to documentation
• Ability to develop knowledge of company and group health & safety standards and procedures
• Trained to be member of investigations team of accidents/incidents
• Possess current and in date medical certification
• Written and oral communication in English and Arabic are essential/mandatory
