Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to support operations at an industrial power generation facility in Hobbs, New Mexico. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial safety programs, OSHA compliance, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and contractor safety management. This individual will be responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting daily field activities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce site safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct field safety observations, inspections, and audits.
• Support and administer Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) programs.
• Oversee confined space entry activities and permit compliance.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
• Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments.
• Assist with contractor safety orientation and oversight.
• Lead incident investigations and prepare corrective action plans.
• Support permit-to-work systems and work planning activities.
• Deliver safety training and toolbox talks.
• Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records.
• Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the facility.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of industrial safety experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience with:
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Hot Work Permits
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment
  • Incident Investigation
  • Contractor Safety Management
• Ability to work independently in an active industrial environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, or heavy industrial facilities.
• OSHA 30 Hour Certification.
• CHST, ASP, CSP, or equivalent safety certifications.
• Experience supporting outage, turnaround, commissioning, or construction activities.
• CPR/First Aid certification.

Schedule

• Full-time contract assignment.
• Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as required by project needs.
