Sales Engineer – Automation | 6-Month Contract
NES Fircroft is partnering with a global leader in engineering and technology and is currently seeking a Sales Engineer within their Automation business on an initial 6-month contract basis. Our client delivers innovative solutions across automation, electrification, robotics, and digital systems, working with major organisations across mining, energy, utilities, manufacturing, and infrastructure worldwide.
About the Role
This is a consultative, technically focused sales role working across industrial automation solutions including control systems, instrumentation, and digital technologies. You will manage key customer relationships, develop new business opportunities, and work closely with engineering teams to design and deliver tailored solutions that meet client requirements.
Key Responsibilities • Manage and grow relationships with industrial and infrastructure clients
• Identify and develop new project and sales opportunities
• Provide technical consultation and solution design support
• Prepare proposals, tenders, and commercial offers
• Collaborate closely with engineering and delivery teams
• Maintain a strong sales pipeline and achieve sales targets
Experience Required
• Proven experience in Sales Engineering or technical sales within automation or controls
• Strong understanding of PLC, DCS, SCADA, instrumentation, or industrial automation systems
• Experience across industries such as mining, energy, utilities, or manufacturing
• Strong stakeholder engagement and consultative sales skills
• Experience managing project-based or long-cycle sales processes
Candidates must have valid Australian working rights.
