About the Opportunity NES Fircroft is seeking experienced and safety-focused Scaffolders to support upcoming works associated with the Papua LNG Project in Papua New Guinea.

This opportunity is exclusively available to PNG Nationals and is aimed at skilled construction personnel with previous experience in LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, industrial maintenance, major construction or similar heavy industrial environments.

Successful candidates will work as part of a multidisciplinary construction team and will be responsible for the safe erection, modification and dismantling of scaffolding and temporary access systems in accordance with approved designs, procedures, site requirements and project safety standards.

Key Responsibilities As a Scaffolder, your responsibilities will include:

• Erect, modify and dismantle scaffolding systems safely and in accordance with approved project requirements.
• Assemble scaffold components including standards, ledgers, transoms, braces, platforms, guardrails, toe boards, ladders and access systems.
• Interpret scaffold requirements, work instructions and scaffold drawings or designs where applicable.
• Ensure scaffolding is erected on suitable foundations with appropriate base plates, sole boards, ties, bracing and supports.
• Construct safe working platforms and access arrangements for construction, maintenance and inspection activities.
• Install scaffolding around piping, mechanical equipment, structural steel, vessels and other project facilities as required.
• Ensure suitable edge protection, access and fall prevention measures are maintained throughout scaffolding activities.
• Assist with scaffold inspections and tagging requirements in accordance with project procedures.
• Identify damaged, defective or unsuitable scaffold components and remove them from service.
• Ensure scaffold materials are safely stored, handled and transported.
• Work within approved scaffold load classifications and ensure scaffolds are not overloaded.
• Work safely at height using approved fall-protection systems and procedures.
• Maintain exclusion zones and control risks associated with falling objects during scaffolding activities.
• Coordinate with riggers, mechanical trades, piping teams, structural crews, supervisors and other construction disciplines requiring scaffold access.
• Assist with the safe lifting and movement of scaffold materials where required.
• Maintain good housekeeping and ensure scaffold work areas and access routes remain clean and safe.
• Participate in pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and other project safety activities.
• Follow all site Health, Safety, Security and Environment requirements.
• Carry out other reasonable duties as directed by the Scaffolding Supervisor or Superintendent.

Qualifications & Experience Candidates should ideally have:

• Relevant scaffolding qualification, vocational training, competency certificate or demonstrated scaffolding experience.
• Previous experience as a Scaffolder within LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, industrial maintenance or major construction projects.
• Practical experience erecting, modifying and dismantling scaffolding systems.
• Experience with common industrial scaffolding systems and components.
• Good understanding of scaffold foundations, bracing, ties, platforms, access and edge-protection requirements.
• Experience constructing scaffolds around process equipment, piping, structural steel and other complex structures would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of working-at-height requirements and fall-prevention controls.
• Knowledge of scaffold tagging and inspection requirements.
• Understanding of scaffold load limitations and safe material distribution.
• Familiarity with manual handling and lifting practices associated with scaffold materials.
• Ability to work safely around cranes, lifting operations and other construction activities.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multicultural and multidisciplinary project team.
• Previous LNG or major oil & gas project experience will be highly regarded.

Mandatory Requirements Applicants must:

• Be a Papua New Guinea Citizen / National.
• Hold valid identification and supporting documentation confirming PNG citizenship.
• Hold relevant scaffolding training, qualifications or competency documentation applicable to the work being performed.
• Hold relevant working-at-height training or competency where required.
• Demonstrate previous practical experience in industrial or construction scaffolding.
• Be prepared to undertake project-specific competency assessment or Verification of Competency (VOC) where required.
• Be willing and physically capable of working at height.
• Be willing to work at designated project locations within Papua New Guinea.
• Be willing and able to work the project roster and scheduled working hours.
• Be medically fit to perform the inherent requirements of the role and successfully complete applicable pre-employment medical requirements.
• Comply with all project alcohol and other drug, safety, security and site access requirements.
