Job Title: Security Coordinator
Location: Houston, TX 77073 (travel required to additional Houston sites)
Work Environment: Onsite, Office
Contract Duration: 12 months
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week
Pay Rate: $30/hr
Role Summary
The Security Coordinator provides operational, administrative, and analytical support to the site security function. Responsibilities include assisting with risk assessments, investigations, crisis response planning, access control management, training coordination, and documentation. This role supports security operations across multiple Houston facilities and interacts frequently with site leadership, enterprise security, and HSE teams. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, calm under pressure, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, safety‑focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
Risk Assessment & Security Programs
- Assist with security audits and facility walkthroughs.
- Identify potential vulnerabilities and support mitigation planning.
- Maintain communication with site leaders to stay updated on operational changes.
- Conduct initial fact‑finding for internal investigations.
- Draft investigative summaries and prepare documentation for senior security staff.
- Collect, analyze, and track security incident data and trends.
- Monitor news and geopolitical developments to flag emerging risks.
- Assist in compiling threat intelligence briefs for leadership.
- Support development of security awareness presentations and materials.
- Help coordinate and deliver training sessions (fraud prevention, workplace violence, travel safety, etc.).
- Promote employee understanding of security best practices.
- Maintain crisis management rosters and assist with planning activities.
- Participate in emergency drills and support real‑time incidents as needed.
- Assist with evacuation planning and contingency operations.
- Attend meetings with site leadership, enterprise security, and HSE.
- Build working relationships with site managers and local security teams.
- Support contractor onboarding (badging, access provisioning, compliance checks).
- Maintain access‑control databases and update personnel rosters.
- Assist with routine security administration across multiple locations.
- Support audit preparation and documentation for internal/external review.
- Manage training logistics including scheduling, attendance tracking, and compliance documentation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Background in military, police, or a professional security company.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including basic Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel to multiple Houston-area sites.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners (leadership, security, HSE).
- Interest or experience in security operations, investigations, or emergency response.
