An exciting opportunity to join Woodside Energy, a global energy company with a 70‑year history and a strong focus on innovation, digital transformation, and the energy transition.

In this role, you will take a hands‑on, senior technical position designing, building, and evolving enterprise‑scale AI platform capabilities. You’ll focus on creating secure, scalable, production‑ready AI platform services that enable the delivery of Generative AI and advanced AI solutions across the business. You will own critical shared platform components and play a key role in shaping technical direction, standards, and best practices.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Designing and building reusable AI platform services, APIs, and frameworks
  • Developing scalable components for model hosting, inference, orchestration, and agentic systems
  • Integrating Generative AI capabilities (LLMs, prompt orchestration, vector databases) into production platforms
  • Ensuring platform resilience, security, observability, and Responsible AI compliance
  • Owning the technical health, evolution, and sustainability of AI platform services
  • Leading complex technical decisions and contributing to platform standards and governance
  • Providing technical leadership through mentoring, collaboration, and peer review
Key skills & experience:
  • 10+ years’ experience in AI/ML with strong platform or backend engineering exposure
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Generative AI frameworks (Azure, AWS, OpenAI)
  • Proficiency in Python and API development (REST/GraphQL)
  • Experience with cloud platforms, containerisation (Docker), and CI/CD
  • Knowledge of model hosting, inference APIs, and vector databases
  • Strong engineering judgement, secure coding practices, and problem‑solving skills
  • Familiarity with Responsible AI and enterprise security standards
