Position Summary
The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for driving business growth and market expansion across utility-scale, commercial & industrial (C&I), and distributed renewable energy projects, with a focus on Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Wind Energy solutions.
The role will lead the identification, development, evaluation, and acquisition of new business opportunities while managing strategic partnerships, customer relationships, project origination, and contract negotiations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in achieving the company's growth objectives by developing a strong project pipeline, securing new revenue streams, and supporting project execution from origination through financial close.

Key Responsibilities Business Development & Market Expansion
- Develop and execute business development strategies to expand the company's renewable energy portfolio.
- Identify and originate new opportunities in solar, BESS, and wind sectors.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of utility-scale, commercial, and industrial renewable energy projects.
- Analyze market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities.
- Develop market entry strategies for new regions and renewable energy segments.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key clients, investors, utilities, EPC contractors, government agencies, landowners, and strategic partners.
- Lead high-level negotiations with customers and commercial stakeholders.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and business forums.
- Build long-term partnerships to support project development and investment opportunities.
- Lead site identification, project screening, feasibility assessment, and project acquisition activities.
- Coordinate with engineering, legal, environmental, grid connection, and finance teams to advance project development.
- Support land acquisition, permitting, and interconnection processes.
- Evaluate project economics and prepare investment recommendations for management approval.
- Lead negotiations of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Energy Storage Agreements, Joint Development Agreements (JDAs), EPC contracts, land lease agreements, and strategic partnerships.
- Develop commercial proposals, tenders, and bid submissions.
- Ensure financial viability and risk mitigation in all commercial agreements.
- Conduct financial modeling and project valuation analyses.
- Assess project returns, sensitivities, and financing requirements.
- Support debt and equity fundraising activities where required.
- Prepare business cases and investment memoranda for executive leadership and investors.
- Contribute to corporate growth strategies and long-term business planning.
- Mentor junior business development team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Provide regular reporting on market opportunities, project pipeline status, and revenue forecasts.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- MBA or Master's Degree is preferred.
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in business development, project development, corporate strategy, or commercial management within the renewable energy sector.
- Proven track record in originating and closing renewable energy projects involving Solar PV, BESS, and/or Wind Energy.
- Experience with utility-scale and C&I renewable energy projects.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating complex commercial agreements and partnerships.
