Job Title: Senior Business Analyst
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Length: 1 year (with potential extension)
Rotation: Monday – Friday
 
Role Summary
The Senior Business Analyst supports the Disaster Recovery (DR) & Minimum Viable Company (MVC) Program, an enterprise-wide initiative aimed at strengthening operational resiliency, addressing audit findings, and ensuring continuity of critical operations during major technology or cyber incidents.
This role works closely with DR/MVC project teams, business units, application owners, and governance partners to define requirements, document processes, and support delivery across all program phases. The BA ensures alignment between business continuity, disaster recovery, and technology capabilities.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Requirements & Analysis
  • Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements supporting DR and MVC capabilities.
  • Support the definition and validation of MVC scenarios, decision criteria, and recovery priorities, with focus on cyber and technology outage events.
  • Analyze current-state processes, BCPs, BIAs, and application recovery documentation to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure requirements align with audit remediation objectives and regulatory expectations.
Process & Documentation
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including business requirements, process flows, use cases, and recovery sequencing inputs.
  • Produce governance, sustainment, and operating model artifacts.
  • Standardize DR/MVC documentation and ensure traceability across program phases.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as liaison between business units, application teams, DR/MVC project teams, and governance stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions with business reps, BCP leads, and technology teams.
  • Support creation of materials for SteerCo, sponsor, and leadership updates.
Delivery Support
  • Support Definition, Design, Build, Test, and Sustain phases of the DR & MVC Program.
  • Assist with validation of deliverables such as recovery plans, test scenarios, and readiness artifacts.
  • Contribute to change management, communications, and training inputs.
 
Role Scope
  • Ensures alignment with relevant audit, regulatory, and organizational resiliency standards.
  • Provides business analysis leadership across multiple teams and competing priorities.
  • Supports development of a sustainable enterprise DR/MVC capability.
  • Enhances operational reliability through process improvements and requirement clarity.
  • Influences stakeholders with clear documentation and data-driven recommendations.
 
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of Business Analyst experience on complex, enterprise-scale programs.
  • Strong background in requirements management, process analysis, and stakeholder facilitation.
  • Experience working with IT, infrastructure, or enterprise platforms in regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across teams and manage multiple priorities.
 
Preferred Experience
  • Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity Planning (BCP), or Operational Resiliency experience.
  • Familiarity with BIAs, recovery tiering, application dependencies, and recovery sequencing.
  • Experience supporting audit remediation or regulatory-driven initiatives.
  • Background in cyber resilience or crisis response.
