Overview
This role provides senior-level Supply Chain Management (SCM) contract support for complex agreements. It is responsible for drafting, negotiating, and finalizing contractual terms using established templates, policies, and approved positions, while aligning with business objectives and risk tolerance. The role partners closely with SCM, Legal, and business stakeholders to ensure consistent, compliant, and efficient contracting outcomes.

This role provides senior-level Supply Chain Management (SCM) contract support for complex agreements. It is responsible for drafting, negotiating, and finalizing contractual terms using established templates, policies, and approved positions, while aligning with business objectives and risk tolerance. The role partners closely with SCM, Legal, and business stakeholders to ensure consistent, compliant, and efficient contracting outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate moderately complex agreements (e.g., Service, Consulting, and Engineering Services Agreements) using approved templates and standard clauses.
- Lead and support supplier negotiations within defined risk parameters; escalate non-standard or high-risk deviations as needed.
- Coordinate input from SCM, Legal, and stakeholders to align on contract terms and resolve issues.
- Review and respond to supplier redlines using contractual standards, precedents, and risk guidelines.
- Provide contract support to enable timely sourcing and procurement activities.
- Advise on appropriate contract types aligned with policies and sourcing strategies.
- Facilitate contract execution by handing off finalized agreements for purchase order or master agreement release.
- Maintain contract documentation, records, and lifecycle updates to ensure auditability and compliance.
- Promote consistent application of contract language, processes, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Operates independently on complex but defined contractual matters.
- Exercises judgment within established guidelines and risk tolerances.
- Escalates issues involving high risk, non-standard terms, or significant financial exposure.
- Supports procurement decisions at the business unit and project level.
- No direct people leadership responsibilities.
- Collaborates closely with SCM sourcing and operations teams.
- Partners with Legal for guidance and escalation of complex terms.
- Engages with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and explain contractual implications.
- Communicates directly with suppliers regarding terms and negotiation outcomes.
- University degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in supply chain or the oil and gas industry.
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex contracts.
- Strong understanding of contract law and risk management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with systems such as Oracle Cloud, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Professional SCM certification (e.g., PMAC, ISM) is an asset.
