Job Title: Senior Expeditor
Duration: 2 Years (Long‑Term Contract)
Rate: ~$40/hour (Negotiable)
Location: Houston, TX (Onsite / Hybrid as required)
Work Schedule: Full‑Time (40 hours/week) Role Overview
The Senior Expeditor is responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of materials and equipment required to meet project schedules. This role works closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, Vendors, and Project Teams to monitor purchase orders, identify risks, and proactively resolve potential delivery or quality issues. The position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate material status reporting and supporting successful project execution. Key Responsibilities
  • Expedite purchase orders to ensure on‑time delivery of materials and equipment in support of project schedules
  • Review assigned purchase order files on a regular and structured cadence, with increased focus on critical and short‑lead items
  • Ensure suppliers comply with purchase order terms and conditions, escalating deviations as required
  • Obtain and document weekly status updates from vendors for critical materials
  • Maintain clear documentation of all vendor communications, including emails and meeting minutes
  • Monitor material receipts at project locations in coordination with Material Coordinators
  • Communicate schedule changes, delivery risks, and status updates promptly to Buyers and Project Teams
  • Participate in early planning meetings with suppliers to establish expediting expectations
  • Identify potential quality or delivery risks early and support mitigation strategies
  • Maintain accurate and current data in Material Status Reports and tracking systems
  • Coordinate third‑party inspections when required
  • Support logistics and shipping coordination activities
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a project expediting role within oil & gas, energy, or industrial projects
  • Strong understanding of procurement, supply chain, and material tracking processes
  • Experience working with manufacturing and supplier delivery cycles
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work proactively
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Detail‑oriented with strong documentation and reporting capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree, technical training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Familiarity with material status reporting systems and supply chain databases
  • Experience coordinating vendor inspections and logistics activities
  • Comfortable collaborating across procurement, engineering, project controls, and supply chain teams
