Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist

NESFircroft have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist to join a global leader delivering large‑scale renewable energy and mining infrastructure developments.

We are seeking a forward‑thinking professional with extensive experience across Pilbara-based projects and a passion for solving complex geotechnical challenges. You will support a diverse portfolio of major capital programs within the renewable and resources sectors.

Experience in one or more of the following is essential:
Wind, Solar, Green Energy, Mining Infrastructure, New Mine Development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide geotechnical and engineering geological expertise for wind, solar and large‑scale mining projects.
  • Coordinate with civil engineering consultants for desktop studies, site investigations and geotechnical design works.
  • Support the development of technical and feasibility studies prepared internally or by external consultants.
  • Manage ground engineering risks throughout the project lifecycle, from concept development through to construction.
  • Develop practical geotechnical solutions, contribute to project optioneering and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
  • Scope and interpret complex site investigations, develop ground models and define geotechnical parameters.
  • Review consultant designs and studies, constructively challenging inputs to optimise cost and schedule outcomes.
  • Operate effectively in a fast‑paced, multi-disciplinary team environment while aligning with organisational values.
About You Experience & Skills
  • Strong background in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology across diverse project types.
  • Exposure to wind project development will be viewed favourably.
  • Proven capability in desktop studies, geotechnical investigations, geotechnical design and technical reporting.
  • Significant experience providing geotechnical advice within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex site investigation and ground engineering projects in the Pilbara.
  • Familiarity with geotechnical modelling software (e.g., Slope/W, Rocscience, Plaxis) is advantageous.
  • Willingness to undertake short periods of travel as required.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology.
