The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Installation Supervisor to join a major renewable energy infrastructure project in the NSW Snowy Mountains. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing complex heavy mechanical installation works, including draft tubes, collectors, penstocks and embedded steelwork. You will lead crews, subcontractors and specialist teams, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required engineering, quality and schedule standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise crews undertaking heavy mechanical installation works.
  • Coordinate labour, equipment, subcontractors and daily site activities.
  • Oversee installation, fit-up, alignment, welding and mechanical assembly works.
  • Ensure works meet engineering drawings, specifications and required tolerances.
  • Coordinate with survey teams to verify alignment and dimensional accuracy.
  • Manage ITPs, inspections, hold points and quality documentation.
  • Coordinate interfaces with civil, electrical and other construction teams.
  • Work with engineers to resolve technical and construction issues.
  • Monitor progress and assist with installation planning and sequencing.
  • Conduct pre-starts and toolbox talks while promoting a strong safety culture.
What We're Looking For
  • Trade qualification or relevant technical qualification in Mechanical, Structural or Heavy Industrial Construction.
  • 8–10+ years' experience in heavy mechanical, industrial or infrastructure construction.
  • Proven experience supervising complex mechanical installation works.
  • Experience with penstocks, pipelines, pressure vessels, heavy steel structures or similar highly regarded.
  • Background across major infrastructure, tunnelling, mining, hydro, power generation or heavy industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of installation sequencing, alignment and dimensional tolerances.
  • Experience working in underground, confined or challenging construction environments highly desirable.
  • Strong ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Sound knowledge of welding, fit-up and heavy mechanical installation.
  • Experience with QA/QC processes, ITPs, inspections and hold points.
  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Current Driver's Licence and Construction White Card.
  • Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets highly regarded.
  • Additional supervisory or leadership qualifications advantageous.
