Senior Instrumentation Engineer

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Instrumentation Engineer to join a major offshore energy project based in Rotterdam.

This is an excellent opportunity for an instrumentation specialist with a strong background in offshore design engineering, particularly within FPSO projects.

Supporting the design and delivery of complex offshore facilities from concept through detailed engineering.

Key Requirements

• Significant offshore Oil & Gas experience is essential, ideally working on FPSO projects.
• Strong instrumentation design engineering background is required.
• Candidates with predominantly field engineering or commissioning experience without design experience will not be considered.
• Experience delivering instrumentation engineering across FEED and detailed design phases.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, vendors, and package suppliers.
• Familiar with international engineering codes, standards, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instrumentation engineering and design activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Produce and review engineering deliverables in line with project specifications and applicable standards.
• Develop safe, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Coordinate interfaces with other engineering disciplines and external vendors.
• Support package engineering activities, including procurement and technical evaluations.
• Ensure work is completed within agreed budgets and project schedules.
• Contribute to technical reviews, design optimisation, and lessons learned.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers where required.

Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent qualification in Instrumentation, Electrical & Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
• Approximately 5–10 years' experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proven experience in offshore instrumentation engineering.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Instrumentation systems
  • ICSS (Integrated Control & Safety Systems)
  • Engineering design and calculation tools
  • Systems engineering
  • Package engineering
  • Detailed design
  • Site engineering
• Excellent planning, analytical, and communication skills.
