We are currently recruiting for a Senior Materials & Corrosion Engineer to join a major offshore energy project in Rotterdam.
This is a long-term contract opportunity with an international offshore energy company, offering a hybrid working arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
We are looking for an experienced Materials & Corrosion Engineer with a strong EPC and Oil & Gas background. Previous offshore project experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
The Role
You will be responsible for providing materials and corrosion engineering support across your assigned project scope, ensuring solutions are technically robust, safe and compliant with relevant international codes, standards and project requirements.

The Role
You will be responsible for providing materials and corrosion engineering support across your assigned project scope, ensuring solutions are technically robust, safe and compliant with relevant international codes, standards and project requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and optimising materials and corrosion engineering solutions.
- Supporting material selection and piping materials activities.
- Producing and reviewing engineering calculations, specifications and technical deliverables.
- Ensuring engineering activities are completed within agreed timescales and project requirements.
- Working closely with other engineering disciplines to manage technical interfaces.
- Coordinating with vendors, subcontractors and third parties.
- Supporting procurement, fabrication and manufacture activities where required.
- Applying relevant lessons learned to improve engineering solutions.
- Providing technical guidance to engineers working within your area of responsibility.
- Taking technical responsibility for an assigned package or scope where required.
- 5–10 years' experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong EPC company experience is essential.
- Degree/diploma in Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, Corrosion Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
- Strong experience in Materials & Corrosion Engineering.
- Good knowledge of piping materials and material selection.
- Experience with engineering design and calculation tools.
- Experience across concept development and detailed design.
- Good understanding of engineering systems and interfaces.
- Knowledge of relevant international codes, standards and Oil & Gas industry regulations.
- Strong planning and coordination skills.
- Previous experience working on projects in Europe is required.
- Offshore project experience.
- Experience working with an international EPC contractor.
- Experience providing technical guidance to other engineers.
- Previous package engineering experience.
- Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands
- Working pattern: 3 days office / 2 days home
- Contract: Long-term project
- Start date: ASAP or within 1 month
- Visa support: Available, including dependants
