We are currently recruiting a Senior Materials and Corrosion Engineer for Woodside Energy on a 12 month contract to be based in the Perth CBD.
The successful candidate will provide specialist technical support to the safe, efficient and compliant delivery to developments, brownfield modifications, technology projects, and help maintain and update Woodside global suite of engineering standards and procedures.
The role requires sound judgement, strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to manage a varied workload while maintaining alignment with Woodside requirements, project objectives and operating asset needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Highly experienced technical advice on materials selection, corrosion management, insulation and coatings, welding, non-destructive testing, pressure equipment inspection.
- Materials engineering solutions and support to complex engineering and operational issues.
- Deliver Materials, Inspection and Corrosion engineering scopes across the Engineering and Technology global portfolio, including planning, prioritisation and schedule input.
- Prepare and review discipline inputs to key project deliverables, including basis of design documents, scopes of work, specifications, technical queries and management of change documentation.
- Support delivery through contractors and vendors, including technical review, assurance and resolution of discipline issues during design, procurement, fabrication, construction, inspection, commissioning and handover.
- Work collaboratively with project teams, operating assets, Technical Authorities, Technical Integrity Custodians and Subject Matter Experts to develop practical, fit-for-purpose and consistent engineering outcomes.
- Deliver materials and inspection engineering solutions with the Technology team, to lower operating costs across the global portfolio.
- Contribute to HSEQ, process safety, integrity management and continuous improvement outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills and Experience:
- Materials Engineering, or equivalent relevant engineering discipline.
- Post graduate qualification in corrosion, metallurgy or welding engineering or experience of working on new technology in these areas demonstrating competency in this area.
- Substantial experience in materials engineering, corrosion, coatings, welding, non-destructive testing, pressure equipment inspection and risk-based inspection within the oil and gas or related energy industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards and regulatory requirements relevant to materials, corrosion, inspection and welding.
- Experience in offshore projects, brownfield and operating asset environments is preferred.
- Experience working with project and production interfaces, including support to construction, commissioning and handover activities, is desirable.
- Supporting international standards such as Bentley APM is advantageous
- API 510, API 570, API 580, API 653, NACE CIP or comparable certifications will be regarded favourably.
