NES Fircroft are delighted to be representing a major Oil and Gas operator who are seeking a Senior Contract Engineer for their Global Procurement Department in Pau.
Attached to the Global Services branch, Global Procurement provides Contract and Procurement services to the Company’s operational branches as well as all its subsidiaries worldwide. Global procurement also has the role of ensuring global coordination of procurement processes and relations with the Company’s major suppliers.
We are looking for a Senior Contract Engineers M/F to join a team of 10 people responsible for setting up contracts related to the main activities of the Exploration and Production branch of the Company, namely Seismic Acquisition contracts, Geotechnical and Geophysical Studies contracts, Drilling Well Equipment and Services (DWES), Drilling Rigs and Marine and Air Logistics Services. To start with, the focus will be on the RIG/DWES scopes.
The position requires excellent organisational and negotiation skills in a complex, international environment and for contracts worth several hundred million dollars (USD).
The actions taken within this team of Contract Engineers must contribute to ensuring the competitiveness, integration of the Company’s environmental and responsible ambition in the agreements that will be signed.
Essential experience
• Conduct and Lead Call For Tenders (CFTs) on behalf of the Business Unit, following Company’s procedures and ensuring the necessary authorisations are obtained in accordance with the Company’s purchasing governance rules.
• Collaborate with technical entities to develop effective procurement strategies, optimise costs while maintaining quality and ensuring compliance with deadlines, and identify new opportunities for improving procurement processes.
• Anticipate/share blocking points and relevant information, work closely with the Categories and ensure effective communication at all stages of the procurement process with the different stakeholders.
• Ensure good mastery of the legal and fiscal environment associated with the CFTs.
• Contribute and lead the Recommendation To Award preparation to be presented to the decision boards.
• Conduct in-depth evaluations of risks related to contracts and suppliers, establish mitigation plans and alternatives to ensure continuity of operations in the event of unforeseen events.
• Manage negotiations in autonomy, draft associated contracts and ensure that files are presented to the entities responsible and that important contract data is properly transmitted to users.
• Archive necessary information and ensure effective management of documentation for future audits and controls.
