Senior Planner / Scheduler
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner / Scheduler to support major capital projects, brownfield modifications, turnarounds, and maintenance-driven initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive project controls expertise and be responsible for developing, integrating, analyzing, and maintaining project schedules from FEED through commissioning and startup. This role requires advanced scheduling capabilities, strong analytics, resource planning expertise, and the ability to provide meaningful schedule insights to project leadership and stakeholders.

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner / Scheduler to support major capital projects, brownfield modifications, turnarounds, and maintenance-driven initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive project controls expertise and be responsible for developing, integrating, analyzing, and maintaining project schedules from FEED through commissioning and startup. This role requires advanced scheduling capabilities, strong analytics, resource planning expertise, and the ability to provide meaningful schedule insights to project leadership and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize integrated project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Create and maintain high-level summary schedules and executive-level reporting dashboards.
- Perform detailed schedule analysis, including critical path identification, risk assessment, float analysis, and schedule performance evaluations.
- Lead resource-loaded schedule development and conduct resource demand and capacity evaluations.
- Monitor and steward project progress, ensuring accurate progress measurement against established baselines and Strategic Key Milestones.
- Support schedule integration across all project phases, including FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup.
- Coordinate schedule development and updates with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams.
- Develop recovery plans and mitigation strategies when schedule variances are identified.
- Support turnaround and brownfield project planning efforts, ensuring alignment of schedules with execution strategies and operational constraints.
- Generate weekly and monthly project controls reports, schedule forecasts, and executive presentations.
- Facilitate schedule review meetings and communicate schedule risks, opportunities, and recommended actions to project leadership.
- Ensure compliance with project controls standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline preferred.
- 15+ years of planning, scheduling, and project controls experience, including significant brownfield and turnaround project experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
- Demonstrated expertise in integrated project scheduling and schedule management.
- Strong understanding of project controls methodologies, planning processes, and schedule governance.
- Experience developing and managing resource-loaded schedules.
- Proven ability to perform advanced schedule analytics and forecasting.
- Strong progress measurement and performance tracking experience.
- Working knowledge of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) methodologies and processes.
- Demonstrated experience integrating schedules from FEED through commissioning and startup.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting EPC, refinery, petrochemical, LNG, power, or heavy industrial projects.
- Knowledge of earned value management (EVM) principles.
- Experience supporting large capital projects exceeding $100MM.
- Familiarity with schedule risk analysis tools and methodologies.
