Job title: SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEER
Location: Maputo, Mozambique
Contract type: International (expatriate) assignment. Fixed-term, residential contract. You will be required to relocate for this position.
Language requirements: Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
Main responsibilities:
  • Review project deliverables, including basic engineering, FEED, PrePHA, safety cases and detailed engineering reviews, and support the projects department in the technical evaluation of bidders.
  • Represent process engineering for FAT & SAT.
  • Support the transition from commissioning to operations.
  • Monitor key process parameters and recommend actions for deviations.
  • Monitor dayto-day plant production and provide timely process support to plant operations to secure operational integrity and maximize production.
  • Monitor plant and equipment performance to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Implement the process performance testing schedule and support any required process simulations.
  • Prepare process performance tests: discuss test procedures with plant operators, collect performance data, and prepare performance test reports.
  • Actively participate in HAZOP/safety reviews of plant operations and design modification MOCs.
  • Perform onsite inspections of material/chemical degradation, supervise and inspect the condition of mole sieve beds during replacement, and perform quality control for loading and unloading of mole sieve beds and activated carbon.
  • Support engineering and operation work instructions; prepare and issue procedures such as Hazard Operability Studies and molecular sieve replacement procedures.
  • Maintain process simulation and design software.
  • Participate in plant debottlenecking exercises and plant expansion studies: scope of study, cost estimates, prepare basis of design and specifications, review engineering deliverables, and support project CSU and performance tests.
  • Perform minor process troubleshooting and recommend shortterm actions. Provide process operating guidelines to the shift operation for a safe and efficient operating envelope.
  • Participate in investigations of plant trips and slowdowns, and support the issuance of reports.
  • Support the Operation Emergency Response Plan; identify actions to be taken by plant operators in the event of emergencies.
  • Participate in HSE audits.
  • Respond to operation callouts during off-office hours.
  • Provide technical support to the maintenance, production, and project departments regarding selection, operation, and troubleshooting of the plant.
  • Develop, plan, and execute the process scope of work and resources required for shutdowns and turnarounds, whether planned or opportunistic.
  • Provide engineering expertise and guidance on process operations, projects, and instrumentation controls, ensuring assets are utilized and/or modified safely and in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Extract and report lessons learned from operational experiences during plant upsets.
  • Evaluate the performance of equipment and systems postcommissioning after project completion and follow up on the close-out of outstanding items.
  • Close out RCFA, insurance, shareholder, and other audit action items.
  • Interface with the Operations and Technical Service Engineering Team as the contact point for all issues related to process changes, control systems modification, and redesign.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment compliance.

Skills and experience required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Certification as an Associate Engineer or Fundamental Engineer.
  • Extensive experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with a strong background in project and interface management.
  • Relevant experience in APCI LNG operations.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary activities and deliver technical and progress reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a multinational environment and manage relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
