Senior Project Engineer – Brownfield Projects (Onshore & Offshore)
Department: Projects Management – Engineering & Projects Group
  Job Purpose
To lead the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple brownfield modification/retrofit projects (onshore & offshore) while ensuring strict compliance with QGPMS, safety standards, cost targets, schedule commitments, and technical quality. Key Responsibilities
1. Safety & Compliance
  • Review contractor SHE plans and participate in audits, safety walks, and incident investigations.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with Company SHEQ standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Project Planning & Development
  • Support concept selection and early project planning (POS, cost & schedule estimates, PDM, risks, etc.).
  • Prepare key project documentation (EPEP, DRAM, roadmap, risk assessment plans).
3. FEED & EPC Management
  • Lead FEED activities and ensure all engineering deliverables (DBM, specs, drawings) are completed.
  • Participate in EPC tender preparation including technical requirements and scope clarity.
  • Ensure maintainability, operability, and constructability requirements are addressed.
4. Brownfield Execution & Interface Management
  • Apply proper brownfield execution procedures and interface management with operations, engineering, and construction teams.
  • Coordinate closely with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Integrity, Engineering disciplines, and regulatory bodies.
5. Construction & Shutdown Coordination
  • Monitor contractor performance using KPIs and conduct site verifications.
  • Ensure timely delivery of shutdown materials and readiness for onshore/offshore shutdown execution.
  • Provide quick technical decisions during tight shutdown windows.
6. Schedule & Cost Control
  • Review and analyze project schedules, define critical paths, and develop mitigation plans.
  • Track project costs, forecast trends, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support additional funding requests or extension-of-time submissions as required.
7. Tendering & Vendor Management
  • Contribute to ITT preparation (scope of work, evaluation criteria, incentives).
  • Support vendor prequalification and selection ensuring technical and SHE requirements are met.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, etc.).
Experience
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in project execution within oil & gas (preferred brownfield and shutdown projects).
  • Experience in operating facilities with SIMOPS, debottlenecking, and retrofit works.
  • Field experience in onshore/offshore environments is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of engineering standards, FEED, EPC, and brownfield execution.
  • Good knowledge of planning, scheduling, cost control, risk, and quality management.
  • Proficient with engineering tools/software.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Strong safety awareness and problem-solving ability.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
