Position: Senior Reliability Engineer (FMEA / Capital Projects)
Location: Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do or Sejong City, South Korea
This position is a key engineering role within a global semiconductor chemical manufacturing environment,
focusing on ensuring long-term reliability and performance of critical production assets.
The role goes beyond maintenance, acting as a technical lead in reliability engineering,
driving FMEA-based risk mitigation, design optimization, and lifecycle cost improvement from early project stages.
You will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and R&D,
bridging design and execution to ensure equipment uptime and operational excellence in a high-precision environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) workshops for new capital projects and high-criticality systems
• Evaluate equipment design and layout for maintainability, accessibility, and reliability improvements
• Identify reliability risks in early project phases and provide design recommendations
• Develop maintenance strategies including inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance plans
• Define and manage critical spare parts requirements for new projects
• Structure and manage asset data for CMMS implementation
• Conduct equipment failure analysis and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) initiatives
• Implement corrective actions based on data-driven insights and prevent recurrence globally
• Analyze KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, and equipment uptime to improve performance
• Support lifecycle cost analysis and optimize equipment selection decisions
• Provide technical guidance to engineering teams and maintenance personnel
• Collaborate with global teams and support international projects remotely
• Participate in cross-regional meetings and occasional global travel
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
• 7+ years of experience in Reliability or Maintenance Engineering within industrial environments
• Strong experience in FMEA facilitation (AIAG-VDA preferred)
• Experience in maintenance strategy development and failure analysis
• Hands-on experience with Root Cause Analysis methodologies
• Experience in spare parts optimization based on reliability analysis
• Proficiency in CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo, eMaint, etc.)
• Good communication skills in English and Korean for global collaboration
• Willingness for international travel (up to 20%) and cross-time zone meetings
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in semiconductor or fine chemical manufacturing environments
• Experience supporting capital projects (CAPEX) or new facility setup
• Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management and reliability modeling
• Experience working in global organizations and cross-functional teams
