Senior Statistical Programmer

NES Fircroft is seeking an experienced Senior Statistical Programmer to support a growing portfolio of clinical research projects for a leading organisation in the life sciences sector. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex studies, drive high-quality statistical programming outputs, and contribute directly to regulatory submission activities.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Programming, the Senior Statistical Programmer will act as a project lead across assigned studies, serving as the primary programming contact and overseeing workload, timelines, and quality. The position plays a key role in delivering SDTM and ADaM datasets, analysis outputs, and submission-ready deliverables in alignment with industry and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead programming activities for assigned products or study groups, coordinating tasks and ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables.
  • Represent programming in internal and client-facing meetings.
  • Mentor and support junior and mid-level programmers.
  • Develop and review specifications and programs for CDISC-compliant SDTM and ADaM datasets.
  • Support regulatory submission requirements and documentation.
  • Program analysis datasets, tables, listings and figures (TLFs) for clinical study reports.
  • Provide SAS programming support to data management teams.
  • Contribute to the development, validation, and enhancement of SAS macros and programming utilities.
  • Uphold rigorous quality control standards across all programming activities.
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of SAS programming experience, including at least 5 years working with clinical trial data in pharma, biotech, or CRO environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of CDISC (SDTM/ADaM) and regulatory submission requirements across all study phases.
  • Proficiency in SAS Base, SAS Stat, SAS Macro, and SAS Graph; familiarity with R, SQL or PERL is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience across multiple therapeutic areas is highly desirable.
