Shutdown Scheduler – 6 Month Contract | PNG
We are seeking an experienced Shutdown Scheduler to support a major mining operation in Papua New Guinea. This is a 6-month contract opportunity working within a high-performing shutdown team across critical plant infrastructure.
This role will suit a detail-driven professional who can confidently manage complex shutdown schedules and coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
About the Role
Reporting to the Shutdown team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimising detailed shutdown schedules to ensure safe and efficient execution.

About the Role
Reporting to the Shutdown team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimising detailed shutdown schedules to ensure safe and efficient execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage shutdown schedules using Microsoft Project
- Coordinate with planners, supervisors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment
- Monitor progress, track delays, and update schedules accordingly
- Identify critical path activities and optimisation opportunities
- Support shutdown readiness and execution phases
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project (essential)
- Previous shutdown experience within mining or heavy industry
- Experience in processing plants (Oxygen Plant experience highly regarded)
- Proficiency in SAP
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- 6-month contract (B2B engagement)
