Role:                Site Commissioning Engineer  (Outside of IR35 OR PAYE)
Base:               Remote
Rate:                £45 - £52.00 p/h

The  Site Commissioning Engineer will undertake site commissioning activities in technical specialist capacity during on-site installation/ construction and commissioning activities related to the assigned work scope to assure cost-effective execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications,  quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements for start-up and commissioning phases.

To work on national & international Energy projects using client products and systems as required.

Site Commissioning Engineer requirements:
  • Able to perform overall quality control of their own work and report regularly on the status.
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
  • Be involved in the coordination of any technical queries and solutions with the client project and product development centres.
  • Typically, HNC/HND or Degree, qualified with 5 years relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant ICSS industry performance standards & specifications and applicable package specific performance standards and specifications.
  • Experience in the design, configuration, testing and commissioning of ICSS applications preferably in the Energy industries.
  • Ensure correct material handling, storage, and installation of client-delivered equipment, collaborating on-site storage as well as shipment logistics to secure timely site delivery of equipment and material.  
  • Ensure all documentation is modified and updated, the document handling system is maintained, and latest revisions are used for the construction work on site. Awareness on the documentation standards and processes for as-built preparation.
  • Troubleshooting and decision making ability to resolve technical issues.
  • Time management and organisation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Presentable and able to interface with customers at all levels
  • Able to involve in Project test phases (Internal and FATs)
  • Conduct Site Acceptance tests
  • Willing to work at sites, including offshore if required
Skills:
  • Software experience  – 800xA, AC800M Engineering, AC400 Advant Master Engineering.
  • IEC61131 languages
  • Hardware experience – Cabinet build, loop design.
  • Knowledge in Common Software tools- Modbus Simulators, IEC simulators.
  • Industrial Protocols- IEC61850, Modbus RTU/TCP, Profibus & HART.
  • Industry Knowledge - Networking, Cyber Security
  • Experience in change management processes in the ICSS project deliveries
  • Use of virtual workplace products (MsTeams, Sharepoint, OneDrive, etc)
The role will cover customer sites nationwide, so candidates must be able to travel. There will be some remote working (document prep etc.), as well as occasional need to visit client offices in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.
