Position: Specialist  Electrical Maintenance Engineer 
Location:
 Milan Italy and then Afungi 
Start Date: July 2026
Status: Residential for around 2 years then rotational (28/28)


Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety of personnel, environmental protection, and technical integrity across all electrical activities
  • Participate in near‑miss investigations, HAZOPs, technical reviews, risk assessments, safety audits, incident reviews and RCA
  • Review and update preventive electrical maintenance plans, frequencies, and task lists
  • Supervise and coordinate scheduling of all electrical work requests
  • Prepare and update monthly reports including KPIs (preventive, corrective, performance, cost, budget follow‑up)
  • Provide technical expertise for all electrical maintenance operations, supporting cost‑efficient reliability
  • Review and update all electrical documentation, procedures, manuals and ensure proper archiving
  • Develop new maintenance procedures and validate existing ones in line with company policy
  • Ensure quality control during all electrical maintenance execution
  • Support Plant Maintenance & Reliability teams with troubleshooting and technical guidance
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement reliability improvements
  • Ensure availability of electrical spare parts and materials; review stock and justify material requirements
  • Coordinate electrical contractor activities ensuring compliance with deliverables, quality and safety
  • Review scopes of work, contractor documentation, and participate in contractor pre‑qualification
  • Supervise vendors providing specialist electrical, PLC and control system services
  • Ensure backups of electrical control systems and PLCs are updated and securely archived
  • Implement electrical modification proposals via the Management of Change process
  • Maintain continuous technical awareness and alignment with international electrical standards
  • Support development and training of national staff, identify training needs and drive competency growth
  • Set annual objectives for team members, conduct performance reviews and complete appraisals
Technical Requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical equipment, systems integration and maintenance methods
  • Excellent understanding of international electrical safety standards (ATEX, IECEx)
  • Strong knowledge of global electrical codes & standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI, API, EN, NEMA MG1 & MG2, ISO)
  • Good knowledge of SAP‑based CMMS systems
  • Good computer literacy and understanding of modern maintenance methodologies
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent international qualification
  • Minimum 15 years’ maintenance experience in oil, gas or petrochemical industries
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in LNG producing plants (not terminals)
  • Strong expertise in VSDs, Gas Turbine Generators, Emergency Diesel Generators, transformers, protections, boards and drawers
