Job Title: Sr. Mechanical Inspector  
Location: Multiple Locations (South Bend, IN / Hanover, MD / Frederick, MD / Phillidelphia, PA )
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 8+ months  (40 hours per week – overtime scheduled as needed)
Pay: $53 - $63/hr. + per diem (depends on location)

Position Summary Key Responsibilities:
  • Review project basis of design and mechanical specifications, compile comments, and participate in project readiness sync meetings
  • Develop inspection and checklist templates to ensure mechanical build quality compliance
  • Schedule and lead quality control meetings with the GC and other contractors
  • Review and ensure compliance with the GC's QC Plan, Testing and Inspection Plan, and Equipment Protection Plan
  • Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical systems and maintain documentation via Procore
  • Verify installation of HVAC, piping, and other mechanical equipment to ensure compliance with contract documents
  • Review RFIs and ensure comprehensive, multi-disciplinary responses
  • Perform weekly reviews of the GC's schedule compliance
  • Validate mechanical system commissioning, including pressure tests, flow rates, and equipment calibration
  • Review TAB (Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing) reports and witness the GC's FOD inspection process
  • Provide weekly reports to the Quality Control Engineer
  • Ensure all observations are closed out and provide a final quality control report
Qualifications & Experience:
  • 5+ years of Mechanical Inspection experience, or 10+ years in industrial field inspection
  • Proven experience in quality assurance and quality control for mechanical systems in construction projects
  • Familiarity with Procore or similar project management software
  • Strong understanding of mechanical construction standards, codes, and regulations
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • OSHA 10 certification – preferred
