Our Client, a Global Oil and Gas Operator is seeking an experienced Subsea Facilities Planner to join the Capital Projects Cost Engineering and Project Services (CEPS) team. The position will report to the CEPS Lead and work closely with the broader CEPS and Project Management / Delivery Teams.

Our client is looking for a Planner who can work across multiple offshore facilities scopes of work of varying maturity across the Australian Capital Projects portfolio with specific expertise in Subsea Systems.

Additionally, the Planner will be responsible for planning and scheduling related control, management and reporting activities on nominated scopes supporting the Delivery Teams including:
  • Logical Planning and Scheduling of work scope activities
  • Development of Basis of Schedule
  • Schedule Analysis, trending, management of changes and schedule contingency
  • Schedule Risk Management including Risk Analysis
  • Development and Maintenance of Project Schedules
  • Schedule Benchmarking across the scope of works
  • Progress and Performance Measurement
Role expectations include:
  • Develops and maintains detailed work plans and project execution schedules for FEED and Phase 4 Execution, aligned to Capital Project phases and handover requirements.
  • Strong communication skills. Articulates schedule issues; proposes preventative or mitigation measures for effective schedule risk management.
  • Proactively and independently works with stakeholders to identify project schedule related opportunities.
  • Leads schedule and planning reports efforts including variance and trending analysis.
  • Lead risk and opportunity-based Schedule Scenario Analysis. Perform probabilistic schedule risk analysis (Monte Carlo simulations, sensitivities, scenarios planning) to quantify schedule uncertainties and drive contingency decisions.
  • Collaborates with Cost to implement Work (WBS), Organisational Breakdown Structures (OBS) for the selected work scopes and for predictable schedule and cost forecasting.
  • Reviews, validates, & challenges contractors’ contract schedules, schedule risks and opportunities, trends with Delivery Teams and Supply Chain Management team prior to their integration into the planning system for selected work scopes.
  • Assist with Business Planning updates, monthly reporting, and funding requests.
  • Leads scheduling Benchmarking, incorporation of lessons learned, & establish Competitive Performance targets for project cycle time and selected work scopes.
  • Contribute to closeout reports for key contracts and work orders incorporating schedule benchmarking for selected work scopes.

Selection criteria
  • Job Knowledge and Proficiency – Comprehensive knowledge of the offshore oil & gas industry, with experience supporting upstream/subsea facilities and well programs. Demonstrated high degree of technical skills in the following areas: planning and scheduling and analysis (including probabilistic risk analysis).  Hands-on experience with scheduling software (Primavera P6) and probabilistic schedule risk-analysis platforms.  Familiarity with benchmarking methodologies and data sources to establish competitive schedule metrics.  Fundamental awareness of cost processes and interfaces with planning.
  • Project Experience - Experienced and knowledgeable supporting major capital projects, including the principles and associated processes, practices, or tools.  Proven track record in FEED and Execution planning.  Knowledge of industry and professional trends and best practices. 
  • Deliver Results – Demonstrated track record of delivering results in Capital Projects. Proactively engages to clarify expectations and works diligently to reach project outcomes. Aligns with and holds self-accountable to achieve established metrics. Adjusts and pivots based on stakeholder input. Proactively addresses issues and barriers, applying a solution-oriented outlook.  Regularly shares status updates with others on work progress and risks.
