NESFircroft continue to partner with a global leader working within power generation. We are currently looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join on a long term contract basis situated in Czech Republic. This role will cover 2 factories in the Czech Republic and 1 based in Romania, all travel expenses to be covered by the client. Addresses below:
Czech Factory Locations
Our client purchases roughly ~$1B/year in power generation auxiliary equipment from 3rd party suppliers around the world. Equipment categories range from large fluid skids, heavy electrical equipment, large mechanical ductwork structures, exhaust stacks, piping, kits, etc. There are aggressive delivery dates to its customers for this equipment at project construction sites and our client must ensure its suppliers keeps high standards of quality with zero defect culture on its supply chain while they stay on schedule from a fulfillment perspective.
Challenges at suppliers range from: recurrence and high impact quality issues, lack of critical material, labor issues, technical gaps, operational excellence issues, capacity problems, financial issues, insufficient manufacturing capability, critical audit findings etc. On site quality inspector and fulfillment resources can help our client manage and minimize schedule risk at suppliers in key regions such as Asia and Europe.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Quality Inspector job portion:
- Maintain supervision of quality adherence to specs at key suppliers as defined by our clients team spending majority of time (except travel time) at supplier facilities. This will focus primarily on hardware deliveries and quality records deliveries (EOMR, Reports, etc...)
- Work collaboratively with internal Supplier Quality organization in verifying supplier quality tasks vs. applicable ITPs witness points on key orders on critical parts and as well on critical manufacturing processes (e.g. Welding, NDTs, Painting, mechanical and electrical assembly…) and insight as to supplier capabilities, challenges, and deviation to processes and product quality.
- Engage directly with supplier during visits investigating and verifying supplier quality issues in coordination with leading SQE noting issue resolution ahead or behind plan. Drive improvements.
- Spend time on factory floor w/ supplier noting quality issues and in coordination with responsible SQE make recommendations to supplier leadership on necessary actions to put quality back in conformity.
- Provide written weekly reports to the quality function on supplier quality issues resolution for open orders highlighting issue resolution progress against schedule and any observations and concerns including deviation to manufacturing processes, personnel qualification vs. requirement, ITP and manufacturing plan execution.

- Conduct intermediate, final inspection, packaging inspection per plan
- On completion of the inspection, Inspection report must be submitted according to procedure or requirement. Ensure all the punch-list is well capture and closure with agree by the supplier
- Monitor any risk on quality, delivery, safety, environment and connect with responsible SQE for STOP WORK escalation if risk is detected.
- Ensure supplier follow MPP (Manufacturing Process Plan), ITPL (Inspection Testing Plan).
Fulfillment expeditor portion:
- Lead expediting and fulfillment activity at key suppliers as defined by the internal quality team spending majority of time (except travel time) at supplier facilities. This includes both hardware deliveries and drawing deliveries.
- Work collaboratively with the internal Sourcing organization in defining supplier priorities, key orders and insight as to supplier capabilities, challenges, and expectations.
- Engage directly with supplier during visits investigating and verifying supplier milestone progress noting orders ahead or behind plan. Ensure adequate process and tools for measuring progress against baseline schedule. Drive improvements.
- Spend time on factory floor w/ supplier noting progress, issues causing delay or potentially causing delay and make recommendations to supplier leadership on how and where to improve.
- Provide written weekly reports to the internal business on supplier progress for open orders highlighting progress against schedule and any observations and concerns including manpower, material availability, capacity constraints, tooling & machinery limitations, etc.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Special process experience (Welding, NDTs, Painting, Electrical and Mechanical assembly)
- Familiarity with technical drawings (Technical specs, NDTs, Bill of Material, etc…)
- Familiarity with Quality assurance process and methodology used by GEV such NCR, FMEA, Problem solving
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Factory setting including manufacturing/ assembly experience.
- Experience in manufacturing, production and schedule management within a factory setting

- Recent experience working in power plants sourcing or projects teams
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical or Business discipline
- 5+ years of experience for Power Generation products
