Job Title: Technical Director, Mechanical
Company: Our client is a leading international engineering, design and advisory company serving diverse sectors from Buildings to Data Centres across 11 offices.
Location: Beach Road, Singapore

Job Responsibilities:

This is a replacement position as the previous Technical Director has been promoted to Industry Director and now needs his successor in the business. This role sits under the Singapore Buildings business where you will lead and support on all types of infrastructure projects for clients.

The new hire is expected to report to the Industry Director and achieve the following objectives:
 

  • Provide authoritative technical leadership and governance for mechanical building services design across major projects.
  • Act as technical reviewer and approver, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Lead resolution of complex technical, design, and risk-related challenges.
  • Oversee mechanical engineering delivery on high-profile projects, ensuring quality, safety, cost, and programme outcomes.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients and key stakeholders.
  • Support bids, tenders, and proposals through technical input, value engineering, and risk assessments.
  • Set and maintain technical standards, design guides, and best-practice frameworks.
  • Mentor and develop senior engineers and future technical leaders; support succession planning and capability uplift.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated building solutions.
  • Promote innovation, digital engineering, sustainability, and safety-in-design across all projects.
     
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelors' degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Chartered / Professional Engineer status (PE, CPEng, or equivalent).
  • 15+ years’ experience in mechanical building services within a consulting environment.
  • Proven delivery of complex, multidisciplinary buildings projects.
  • Strong interest in working on innovative, energy efficient and sustainable projects.
  • Pro-active with the ability to work independently or with a team
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, proven business development and account management skills.
