The Capital Projects Digital team at Woodside Energy are seeking a Telecoms Project Engineer to take a delivery-focused role in planning, coordinating and assuring Digital infrastructure scopes across both upstream and downstream scopes on a 2 year contract.

This role will be responsible for the integration of digital infrastructure activities to support the development of a new greenfield capital project – ensuring scope, schedule, budget, deliverables and risk controls are defined and actively managed to support FEED readiness.

The role will work closely with Project stakeholders and Woodside Digital stakeholders to uphold compliance with Woodside Digital Delivery framework and meet decision-gate artefact requirements.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Digital Execution Planning - Lead the preparation of the Project Execution Plan and schedules across upstream and downstream components for infrastructure scopes. Ensure dependencies across digital streams are visible and aligned to the overarching Capital Project schedule.
  • Budget Management – Manage and track Digital team budget for Pre-FEED/FEED phases, including budgeting, forecasting and progress-based cost tracking aligned to the schedule.
  • Management – Act as a focal point for Digital governance, partnering with Capital Project and Woodside Digital teams to coordinate inputs of digital objectives, drive alignment, timely decisions and clear accountabilities.
  • Digital governance and compliance - Drive adherence to the Woodside Digital frameworks and standards (E.g. Deliver Systems Standard) that are applicable to the Digital initiatives, and ensure governance evidence is maintained and traceable to support FEED entry. This includes alignment of
  •  Capital Project decision gate artefacts that aligns with Digital delivery processes.
  • Risk management and Bowties – Support Digital risk management activities and develop Risk Bowties for pre-FEED and FEED. Build and maintain strong working relationships across Project Engineering, Operational Readiness and Digital stakeholders to ensure early visibility of requirements, rapid issue resolution and structured escalation to adapt to shifting priorities or risks.
  • Integrated deliverables support – Drive collaboration efforts between Capital project and Woodside Digital teams for any joint deliverables to support Project FEED entry.
  • Facilitate better “ways of working” improvement opportunities with Capital Project Digital team and act as focal point to service Digital demands from the project.
  • Reporting – The role reports to the Digital Lead and will suit someone interested in following a major project from Concept Definition phase through to FEED and Execute phases.
 Skills and Experience
  • Engineering degree (or equivalent relevant experience) with a minimum of 10 years oil and gas industry experience, preferably including exposure to construction delivery and/or project engineering / project management.
  •  Demonstrated ability to build constructive cross functional working relationships with multiple stakeholders and influence outcomes.
  •  Ability to interpret, coordinate and apply Engineering standards and expectations, in compliance with a defined Digital Delivery framework.
  •  Effective written, presentation and verbal communication skills with experience in preparing governance updates and driving clarity on actions, owners and decisions.
