Trade Desk Support Analyst
Location: London
Contract Length: 12 Months
Organisation Overview: Our client's Supply & Trading business provides a critical link between the market and production, refining, and marketing operations. We provide commercial support across crude oil, refined products, and natural gas markets, helping to optimise value and manage risk across the energy value chain.
Position Summary: We currently have a contractor Trade Desk Support Analyst position available. We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated with sound business acumen and problem-solving skills, natural team players, eager to learn and grow, and with an eye for innovation and continuous process and personal improvement. The Trade Desk Support Analyst role sits within the front office team and is responsible for maintaining and understanding the physical and financial positions within an Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) system.

Key Responsibilities
- Accurate and timely updates to the trading capture system throughout the life of each deal.
- Daily analysis and reporting of earnings, exposure, and mark-to-market positions to explain business performance.
- Working closely with teams across trading, finance, risk control, and operations to manage and understand commodity earnings and exposure.
- Collaborating with global teams to identify and implement process improvements through digital solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification).
- Strong commitment to delivering results the right way.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse, fast-paced environment.
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Digital and innovative thinker with a proven ability to leverage technology to improve processes, develop models, and quantify risks to support trading strategies.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel and Power BI.
- Knowledge of Python or other programming languages.
- Understanding of commodity trading terminology.
- Experience with trade capture systems, particularly SolArc RightAngle.
