Mine Planning Engineer | Underground Hard Rock Mining 

Our client is a leading Australian mining operation seeking an experienced Mine Planning Engineer to join their underground technical services team.

Reporting into the Mine Planning function, you will play a key role in developing and optimising mine plans to support safe, efficient and sustainable underground production. Working closely with Mining, Geology and Geotechnical teams, you'll be responsible for delivering practical mine designs and ensuring alignment between short and long-term planning objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain underground mine designs, including stope shapes and drill-and-blast plans.
  • Collaborate with Geology and Geotechnical teams to ensure designs are practical and aligned with ground conditions.
  • Monitor mining performance and adjust mining sequences to maximise recovery, productivity and value.
  • Analyse historical stope performance to improve future mine designs and planning outcomes.
  • Identify, manage and communicate planning risks while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
  • Degree-qualified Mining Engineer.
  • Strong underground hard rock mining experience, particularly within drill-and-blast operations.
  • Demonstrated mine planning experience with a focus on safety, operational efficiency and value creation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience using mine planning software, with Deswik highly regarded.
  • Ability to effectively engage with operational and technical stakeholders across site.
