Social & Community

NES Fircroft prides itself on providing a local service in each region and we take this same approach to the charitable activities we support.

To do this, we do not have one global charity that we contribute to as an organisation, but instead offer employees the choice to support a cause in their locality that matters to them. Every employee can take one working day a year to pursue a voluntary activity which contributes to their local community in a positive way.

Our Progress

Charity support

We saw many offices choose to support those most affected by Covid-19 in their local area. Whilst many activities had to take place in a socially distanced manner it was inspiring to see how staff still managed to work together to support each other and their neighbours. This ranged from sponsored runs to raise much needed funds for local causes, to providing food parcels for those in need.

Alberta Children's Hospital

Our local teams have also supported several charities on an ongoing basis, for example our Calgary office hosts an annual Burns Night celebration to raise much needed funds for the Alberta Children's hospital.

Continual Improvement

We are always looking for ways to give back and in 2022 plan to support more mentor schemes with young people in the community and partner with Universities to help supporting graduates in finding their first role.

Trades Exposure Project

In Alberta (Canada), we are proud to be a Foundation and Capacity Building Partner in the Trades Exposure Centre Project. 1:6 of Alberta’s population are Aboriginal and 49% are under the age of 25.

The project is a collaborative partnership between NES Fircroft, the school division, the Canadian Indigenous communities and the government and aims to support young people in to work. The facility includes classroom space and hands on workshops which provide trades training opportunities to high school students and apprenticeships. NES Fircroft deliver the hands-on service rig training course. Our support allows students to make an informed decision about pursuing a career in the local oil industry.
