Job Title: Assistant Cable Package Manager
Location: BGC, Taguig

The role will support the Cable Package Manager in overseeing offshore cable works for an offshore wind farm project in the Philippines. This involves the installation of approximately 300km of 66kV submarine cables and represents one of the first offshore wind farm developments in the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Cable Package Manager in managing the offshore cable works scope, including oversight of the appointed EPCI contractor.
  • Support the coordination and supervision of installation of ~300km of 66kV submarine cables, including multiple shore landings for export cables.
  • Oversee the supply and installation of approximately 120km of onshore cables, connecting export cables to the onshore substation.
  • Work closely with the EPCI contractor’s installation team to develop, review, and improve installation engineering and methodology to align with client expectations.
  • Assist with the coordination with internal project teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of the works e.g. interface management
  • Assist with contract administration, progress tracking, and reporting to project management.
  • Deploy key local knowledge within the Philippines.
  • Be the eyes and ears of the cable package manager at site from time to time.
  • Support the Transmission Director where needed and act as needed as Cable Package Manager in case of his absence and in case of a gap while recruiting and onboarding the permanent Cable Package Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Prior experience in offshore wind is not required; however, experience with NGCP submarine cable interconnection projects, HV onshore power cable installation, submarine fiber optic projects, local power cable manufacturers, or marine construction will be required.
  • Some understanding of one or more of the following: power cable manufacturing, submarine power cable installation, HV onshore power cable installation, marine works, and associated construction activities.
  • Organizational and communication skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commercial and contractual management experience or acumen is highly desirable.
  • Mandarin language capability is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to work in a pioneering internal project environment.
